The Department of Ophthalmology offers comprehensive eye care services including evaluation and management of ocular diseases, medical ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and adnexal surgeries. The department is supported by a dedicated team of experienced ophthalmologists, optometrists, nursing staff, and technical personnel, ensuring high-quality patient care and academic training. The department actively contributes to undergraduate medical education and promotes evidence-based clinical practice, research, and community-oriented eye health services.
The department conduct community outreach activities including school eye screening programmes, outreach camps for defence and civilian populations, mobile Ophthalmology OPD services at KMCH outreach centres with cataract surgeries offered at subsidized rates during special programmes.
