Dr. M.G. Sridhar MD (Biochemistry), DNB, PGDBE
Dr. Sridhar is a well-known medical academician. He is an alumnus of Bangalore Medical College (MBBS,1981) and JIPMER, Pondicherry (MD-Biochemistry,1987). He has served in JIPMER for nearly 27 years as a faculty member with an overall teaching experience of 35 years and has had wide experience in various administrative positions.
He has been a guide for 60 MD/MSc/ PhD postgraduate students. He has nearly 100 journal publications to his credit.
He has a Post Graduate diploma in Bio-ethics of ICMR that was certified by IGNOU. (Sponsored by Fogarty International, USA). He has been an active member of several Institutional Ethics Committees.
He has been a member of several Boards of Studies, Advisory Committees and Curriculum Development Committees of various Universities in India and Nepal.
He was a member of several Administrative and Scientific Committees in PMSSY of the MOHFW, New Delhi and in several premier Institutes in the country. He has been a founding team member in establishing four Medical Schools in Indian and Nepal. He was the first Coordinator of JIPMER Karaikal and played a vital role in its establishment from 2015- 2017.
He has participated extensively in Problem Based Learning (PBL) and other innovative strategies of learning in Medical Education that promote the development of critical thinking skills and help apply learning concepts effectively.
He was the Vice Principal of KMCHIHSR from 2018 to 2024 and was involved in the academics of the first five batches of MBBS Students.
He oversees the academic policies, curriculum development, provides guidance and support to faculty members and ensures quality assurance of the educational programs. He adopts a humane and an altruistic approach while communicating with colleagues and in maintaining premium decorum. He also plays a crucial role in strategic planning, and overall administration of undergraduate and post graduate programs as per the Institution's Vision and Mission.
